parachuting at sunset

Imagine jumping from a plane. The air is rushing past your face. You start to notice the ground and the details become more and more clear the closer you get. After losing your stomach, you may actually start to enjoy your long fall in the sky, but as you get closer, you have start thinking about pulling the cord. There is no point in risking your life just to see how close you can get to the ground, so you pull the cord…..and wait… Shouldn’t a parachute come out or something?

Prepare to Jump another Day

Sound like a nightmare? Well hopefully none of us are ever in this situation. With parachuting there needs to be adequate preparations. There is a specific way to fold the parachute so it comes out just right and you usually do some tandem flights to make sure you are confident enough with things before you go solo.

Seat Belts are Like Parachutes

While putting on a seatbelt doesn’t seem like much of a preparation, it can save your life from major impacts that could be deadly. Unlike a skydiver, drivers usually can’t predict when an “impact” will occur. This is why so many drivers get lulled into a false sense of security.

While many new drivers are adamant about wearing a seatbelt, sometimes experience can make us comfortable. It is similar to when the skydiver begins to actually start enjoying the scenery and wind on his face. If he stops paying attention for even a few seconds too long, it can be fatal.

Buckle Up!

Don’t think for a second that you will have time to put your seatbelt on seconds before an accident! Make sure you are keeping you and everyone safe in the car by buckling up before you hit the road.
