It’s probably safe to assume that nobody enjoys having a cold. It can leave you stuffy and coughing for days, and feeling like there’s no relief in sight.
But have no fear! These 3 tips will help you recover faster than ever from that pesky cold.
Drink hot liquids
You’ll want to stay hydrated, of course, but hot liquids like tea and broth can help you get over a cold faster by reducing congestion in your nasal cavities. A good herbal tea like chamomile will help hydrate you better, and adding honey to your tea can sooth your throat as well.
Give yourself the steam treatment
Steam is effective at clearing your congested nasal cavities, and you don’t have to go to a bath house to give yourself a good steam treatment.
Bring a pot of water to a near boil, and then lean over the pot and drape a towel over your head and the pot, trapping the steam. Take deep breaths, and feel the cold symptoms melt away.
Get plenty of sleep
In all reality, lack of sleep could be at the root of your cold. Not getting enough sleep is a good way to invite all manner of illness, but it’s also the key to recovery. Making sure you get your 8 hours a night will accelerate the healing process, and you’ll have more energy as well.
So hop back in bed with a steaming pot of vegetable broth, and you’ll be on your way to feeling better in no time.
