Auto Insurance

If you own and drive a car or other vehicle, we all know the law requires you to also have an auto insurance policy. Not only will it cover your own expenses should you have an accident or theft but it also protects you if you are at fault for someone else’s injuries or property damage.

Let’s face it Auto Insurance can be a pain. Knowing what you need or what you may be missing can be costly. At Insurance Center Associates of San Pedro and Torrance California, our award winning independent agents represent a carefully selected group of insurance carriers.

We work for you not the carrier, so we can provide you with the best coverage at the best rates. We’ll ensure you are insured with the protection you deserve, and tailor crafted to fit your needs.

Private Passenger Auto Insurance

The most common car insurance is Personal auto Insurance. This insurance is for vehicles with four wheels, is subject to motor vehicles registration, and is driven for personal use.

A typical policy may include the following coverage:

  • Comprehensive: Covers your vehicle if it is stolen, vandalized, or damaged in a natural disaster.
  • Collision: Covers the expenses of your damaged car if you are in an accident.
  • Personal Injury Protection: Covers your medical expenses and those of your passengers if you are involved in an accident.
  • Liability: Covers medical expenses, property damages, and legal costs if you are involved in a lawsuit.
  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist: Covers your damages if you are in an accident with someone who doesn’t have any or enough auto insurance.
  • Other Provisions: Optional coverage includes rental car, OEM Parts, GAP insurance (the difference between what you owe on your car loan and what is deemed as the replacement value of your car), and roadside/towing assistance.
  • Ride Sharing (Uber, etc): Personal Auto policies by their nature exclude “livery” or “for hire” coverage. However we have several carriers who can add an endorsement adding limited coverage should you need it.

Options galore

There are a ton of options available including multi-car discounts, OEM parts, Mechanical Breakdown / Extended warranty, Full Glass, New car replacement, Towing, Vacation Interruption, diminishing deductibles, Loan Balance, Special Wheels, Custom Paint and more that are all available to custom tailor a policy to your needs.

Getting a Lower Premium

Premiums are based, for the most part, on which coverage options you choose, your deductible, and the payout limits that are written in your policy.

There are a few things you can do to lower your auto insurance premium. You’ll get lower rates if you have a history of good driving, drive a vehicle with a good safety rating, and combine your policy with your homeowners insurance policy. Have more assets? If you need high limits combining a package that includes car, home and a personal umbrella can save 30% or more on your rate!

One final thing you can do to lower your insurance premiums is to have an independent insurance agent sort through your coverage options, check your discount eligibility, research a variety of insurance companies, and compare quotes for you. You can save yourself a lot of time and a significant amount of money when you have one of our agents do the work for you.

Other Types of Auto Insurance
